Coca-Cola Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship awarded to high school seniors who recently graduated. It recognizes the student’s ability to serve, lead and make a significant impact in their schools and communities.

Created by the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, which is committed to improving the lives and wellbeing of students.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation, or CCSF, is a non-profit organization that works on behalf and at the direction of the Coca-Cola group of companies to provide scholarships to 1,400 students annually.

This includes The Coca-Cola Company, the largest producer of non-alcoholic beverages, and its many subsidiaries. The scholarship totals over $3.4 million each year.

This organization is based in Atlanta, Georgia.

Due to the high number of applications and the limited resources, the scholarship grant is not fully-funded. Over 150 college freshmen are awarded grants worth $20,000 every year by the foundation.

Just recently, the Foundation launched a program to train 7,000 young African women in 2022.

For over 25 years, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation has helped high school seniors reach their academic and intellectual potential via scholarship programs and Leadership Summits.

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation specifies which students are eligible for the Coca-Cola Scholarship.

Application Process

To apply for the Coca-Cola Scholarship, you must submit a Google Form application using their online scholarship portal.

To apply for this award, no essays, transcripts, or other supporting materials are required.

However, it is important that you obtain a copy of your transcript before completing this application to verify that you are giving correct and up-to-date information about yourself.

Typically, the Foundation gets between 85,000 and 110,000 applications, with around 2,000 chosen as semifinalists. This stage takes into account all regional student applications across the United States.

From the original applications, the scholarship committee will choose around 2,200 semifinalists.

These semifinalists will be asked to submit an additional application, and the 250 finalists will be chosen from this group.

The 250 Finalists are invited to Atlanta for personal interviews in April of their senior year. A National Selection Committee composed of exceptional leaders in industry, government, education, and the arts interviews the Finalists.

Fifty students are then named National Scholars and are awarded a Coca-Cola scholarship worth $20,000 to fund their educational costs throughout the university.

The remaining 200 students will be chosen as Regional Scholars, and each will receive a $10,000 scholarship to fund their college or university study.

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation

Aside from the Coca-Cola Scholarship, the Foundation offers more categories of scholarships as it seeks out creative students who are in need of financial aid.

If you’re interested and eligible, you can apply for the scholarships, which I will be listing below.

Coca-Cola Leadership of Promise

The scholarship program is available to new Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society members in order to assist them financially while enrolled in a full associate degree program at a US university.

Coca-Cola’s Leadership of Promise awards 200 students grants amounting to $1,000 each year.

According to the US Department of Education’s rules for Federal Financial Aid Eligibility, the beneficiary must be a US citizen or have permanent residency in the US.

Other prerequisites include being enrolled in a full-time study program at a US university at the time of application.

You must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0. Applicants must not have a bachelor’s or associate’s degree.

Coca-Cola Community Academic Team Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded to high-performing college students who are academically sound and possess leadership qualities. Upon their enrollment, candidates must demonstrate leadership capability and contribute more than their obligations as students.

Unlike the Coca-Cola Scholarship, to apply, applicants must submit their applications through Phi Theta Kappa’s web portal.

Each year, the program awards 200 outstanding students with grants worth up to $237,000 in total. There are three categories awarded to scholars who apply and are eligible.

Century Gold Scholars will receive $1,500 for their educational costs at their university, while Silver Scholars will receive $1,250 and Bronze Scholars will receive $1000, respectively.

The student must be nominated by their college for the scholarship and must submit their application for the All-USA academic team.

Other requirements include being currently enrolled in a full-time study program at a US university at the time of application.

Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a scale of 4.0 and must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree.

You must not have a criminal record, and you must not have previously been nominated for the All-USA academic team or the Coca-Cola academic team.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is an international honor society that was started back in 1910 under the name Kappa Phi Omicron at St. Stephen’s College, Columbia.

Later, in 1918, St. Stephen’s College partnered with the Missouri Junior College for Women to organize a new honor society with a common mission that gave birth to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society as we know it today.

It is an international honor society for students pursuing associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees, or other academic qualifications at open-access universities. Its headquarters are in Jackson, Mississippi, and it has over 3.5 million members spread among approximately 1,300 chapters in ten countries.

The objective of Phi Theta Kappa is to acknowledge college students’ excellent academic performance and to offer chances for them to flourish as scholars and leaders.

Phi Theta Kappa collaborates with over 800 four-year schools and institutions to provide over $46 million in transfer scholarships to its members.

Phi Theta Kappa membership is by invitation only and is very selective. Meeting the minimum standards will not guarantee an invitation.

Conclusion

The Coca-Cola scholarship is awarded to high school seniors or graduates who are making an impact and contributing to their schools and communities through their achievements and outstanding leadership qualities.

The Coca-Cola Scholarship is not only focused on the outstanding academic achievement of the students, but it also gives an appreciation to passionate young people, offers inspiration, influences others with their stories, and makes a positive change in their communities.

The Coca-Cola Foundation now works on a global scale by helping communities around the world focus on issues such as water sustainability, education and youth development, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, and the climate protection program.

Do not confuse the Coca-Cola Foundation with the Coca-Cola Scholar Foundation, which focuses on education and youth development on American soil.
